SYNDICATE CITY:  Last night's Children's Services Benefit Concert came to a terrifying close early. Accounts are sketchy, but there can be no doubt that without the intervention of Syndicate City's own local legend, Johnny Radd, the night may have ended in far greater tragedy.

According to those who fled the arena, a minor disturbance in the crowd escalated into a major battle when the lights went out suddenly. While the frightened audience and performers tried to flee, the interior of the arena was lit by a combination of flames that engulfed the main entry and a whole blasted in the ceiling by Johnny Radd.

Escapees tell us that Johnny Radd and his associates foiled a kidnapping attempt, but may have been seriously injured in the incident.

Witnesses report that Johnny was assisted by two or three other individuals - a woman who may have been Shockwave, his partner in the incident at the New Millennium Mall, and a younger man. There are sketchy reports of another participant, dressed in red and black, but this report is unconfirmed.

Mr. Radd's publicist would not comment on the incident, and reporters have been unable to successfully identify the woman known as Shockwave or the young man who were involved in the incident last night.
