The Evolution of the Homemade Heroes
The JJ and Liberty figures on the previous page are our first attempts at making minis. The process and product have evolved a little since then.

The Evolution of Liberty
From left to right, the first and second attempts at a Liberty Haley mini and the Heromachine 2.0 picture of the character. The second mini was created with more colored pencil and less ink, and cut with an X-Acto knife.

The Evolution of JJ
From left to right, the second and first attempts at a JJ Dawson mini and the Heromachine 2.0 picture picture of the character. The second mini was traced, colored and cut with an X-Acto knife.
The d20 Modern characters created, so far, using the latest method - which is tracing using primarily colored pencils and cutting with an X-Acto knife.
The characters, from left to right, are Billy Joe Russel, Maria D'Mato, JJ Dawson, Staci Tran, Sister Amanda Catherine and Liberty Haley.
The inspiration for this project. Minis created (in scale to one another) for C. Baize's half silver dragon/half minotaur Ga'Arath and his older half-sister, Shewolf's half silver/half elf Marinaya Liastacia.
There are some things the big companies just will never do.
Ga'Arath, by the way, is the most expensive of the minis to date... his total cost comes up to almost $1 US.
The minis created so far... all pictured are the "latest" editions. Most of them are d20 Modern characters for no other reason than that our current campaign is Modern.
