Homemade Heroes

The Detailed Tutorial

    1. Shrink Plastic
2. Colored pencils, markers, paint
3. X-Acto knife and cutting surface
4. Glue
5. Material for base

INSTRUCTIONS
Transfer your character's image to the plastic. This is most cleanly accomplished by tracing the character - not the simplest method, but clearer than running the plastic through the ink jet.
Depending on the printer, your settings, and how much detail you want, the ink jet may be the way to go. We are still experimenting with the settings... plastic doesn't absorb ink the way paper does.

***
Cut the image out carefully. Use extreme caution when cutting around hands, swords, horns, etc. The plastic is very fragile before it's baked.

***
Bake your minis according to the directions that came with your plastic... and don't stress out when the wings and swords curl up - that's how the plastic cooks.
***
Attach your figure to whatever you've chosen to use as a base. Currently, we hot-glue ours to coins, but this will probably change if we can find something we like more.
