Kalisthalia (Talia) Hjottsdottir was born and raised in the foothills near the city of Kiev. The Scandinavians had been in the area long enough for her tribe to forge excellent relations with them. The two tribes were so similar, Talia thought, that there was no reason they should not get along. The main differences were not really that important... the Scandinavian tribe's small ones did not understand the idea of "play" yet they played the same games as the small ones of her tribe. And the Scandinavian tribes enjoyed to swim. This was the most alien of all differences, but as long as Talia was not there to see it, it did not matter to her. But this was her way.

Talia's father, Hjott, had lived with the Sccandinavian tribe after the death of his parents. They had raised him and taught him their ways, as well as sending him to play with the other small ones of the foothill tribe. He was so small when his parents died, that he did not know his name. For this reason, his new parents in the Scandinavian tribe gave him the name of Hjott. When he came of age, Hjott left the home of his Scandinavian father to live among the foothill tribe. He married, but had only one child before his wife died. He raised the girl with the help of the foothill tribe's elder women and his own Scandinavian family.

When Talia came of age, she chose to play for a time before settling down. This was not uncommon for the foothill tribe, but she had never seen any of the Scandinavian female young ones make that choice. Her decision was met with enthusiam from her Scandinavian grandparents, however, so she felt that she had made the right choice by both her tribes. This was important. Before she left the foothill tribe, her father gave her a strange map. She could not read the map, nor did she recognize any of the places on it. But she kept it with her wherever she went, hoping to find some idea of why or what it was for.

For the last two years, Talia has traveled across the land to different places, meeting strange people and adventures. She continues her travels for two reasons; to experience the joy of the hunt and to find the best possible kill to take back to her tribes.
